Finally, after going through countless files in the com_phocagallery folder, I’ve found the solution! Firebug didn’t help much because there isn’t a class specified for the ‘Powered by Phoca Gallery’ text.
Jan Pavelka, is a bad ass developer.
Googling for a solution didn’t help much either, cause Joomla 1.6 is relatively new and all the solutions posted in forums and blogs were for previous versions of Phoca Gallery.
So here’s how to remove ‘Powered by Phoca Gallery’ for Phoca Gallery version 3.0.1 Beta in Joomla 1.6.
The Culprit – PhocaGalleryUtils::footer()
‘PhocaGalleryUtils::footer()‘ is the method that’s calling and displaying the footer text. You just have to remove or comment ‘PhocaGalleryUtils::footer()‘. Dreamweaver’s Find and replace function is the de facto weapon for these kind of missions, so use Ctrl + f.
Listed below are the files that you need to edit.
Files to Modify
Here’s an example of what I did to the category default view file (components\com_phocagallery\views\categories\tmpl\default.php):
The last line says:
echo '</form><div> </div>' . PhocaGalleryUtils::footer().'</div>';
So I commented the whole line out and duplicated the line below, minus the ‘PhocaGalleryUtils::footer()’ method.
Here’s how it should look like:
//echo '</form><div> </div>' . PhocaGalleryUtils::footer().'</div>'; echo '</form><div> </div></div>';
Do the same for the other files, re-upload all the files using your FTP software, refresh your Phoca Gallery page in the front-end, and smile away.
