Creating a minimal-looking website is simple – well you just have to avoid putting too much stuff in the design. But making that minimal site look attractive, now that’s the challenge. I’ve always been a fan of minimal stuff – I love the way designers create something that looks so simple but at the same time attracts so much attention.
Making an awesome minimal design requires you to skillfully plan the placement of elements, color scheme, typography, and a few other factors.
Minimal sites are usually made up of elements like nice typography, a monochrome / flat / pastel color scheme, grid layouts, huge photos, lines and simple shapes.
Here’s a compilation of 40 awesome minimal website designs that I absolutely love, and I’m sure you will too.

@Mark Milic, welcome! Love those origami-like shapes.
Some nice sites, not all of them are what I’d call minimal though; Marcin Kaniewski for example looks quite busy.
Thanks for sharing!

Azhar Kamar replied:
@Patrick, Marcin Kaniewski’s design is minimal in the sense that it uses a simple or primary form of geometric structure, in this case, squares.
Thanks for your opinion. ;)
